La Petite Maison's Cocktail – The Method

We present a home-style interpretation of a cocktail found on our latest drinks list. Designed as a batch pre-mixed which is packed with the tastes of the festive period, which makes it perfect for a holiday party. Save the extra syrup you can use for morning drinks, puddings, or to make more rounds of this cocktail.

The Bikini Cocktail

Serves 10 people

To make the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g caster sugar

To make the Cocktail (yields 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (from the recipe above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Method

To prepare the Citrus Syrup: Put the listed ingredients in a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring so the sugar melts. Next, remove from the stove and leave to cool entirely. Pour to a clean bottle, cap it and store chilled, it will last for up to a month.

To make Premix: Combine all the liquids into one sizeable container, leave to sit for an hour, then strain best through cheesecloth, making it completely strained.

When ready to serve: Add 85ml of the premix into a cocktail shaker packed with ice, gently stirring carefully for a minute to cool it down. Pour to a frosted cocktail glass or similar, garnish with some cranberries and complete it using a brief mist with the mandarin essence above the glass.
