I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
